Arsenal's Max Dowman has been recognised with three Guinness World Records for a series of remarkable age-related achievements. The 16-year-old's record-breaking rise during Arsenal's title-winning campaign has earned him a place in the Football Edition 2027's 'Class of '27'.
He became the youngest player to win the Premier League at 16 years and 144 days when Arsenal ended their 22-year wait for the championship last season. The title was secured after Manchester City drew 1-1 with Bournemouth. Dowman also scored his first league goal against Everton aged just 16 years and 73 days.
Champions League debut
His record-breaking spree began even earlier in European competition. Dowman made his Champions League debut at 15 years and 308 days, coming off the bench in a 3-0 away win over Slavia Prague in November 2025. That appearance made him the youngest player ever to feature in the tournament, overtaking the previous record held by Youssoufa Moukoko.
Guinness recognition
The formal recognition came as Dowman was presented with his certificates after returning from England Under-19 duty. He is featured in the Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027, which highlights 30 emerging talents. Senior editor Tom Beckerlegge said Dowman, the youngest player on their list, sums up what the 'Class of '27' represents. Beckerlegge noted that achieving three world records before turning 17 is an extraordinary feat that captures the excitement of this generation of players. Dowman was selected alongside other young stars like Barcelona's Lamine Yamal and Manchester City's Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Career status
Despite these historic accomplishments, Dowman remains on a scholarship deal with Arsenal and is yet to sign a full professional contract. He has made 15 first-team appearances for the Gunners, scoring three goals and providing one assist across all competitions. His story is a powerful example of the rapid trajectory possible for football's brightest young talents. Notts County's next fixture is at home to Oxford United on October 10.
