Notts County Striker Alassana Jatta Signs for Casa Pia
Notts County has confirmed that striker Alassana Jatta has completed a move to Portuguese top-flight club Casa Pia. The 27-year-old Gambia forward leaves Meadow Lane after scoring 44 goals in 89 appearances since joining from Danish club Viborg in February 2024.
League standing (final 2025 table -- new season not yet under way): 5th in League Two, 80 pts, 24W-8D-14L from 46 games, recent form WDWDW.
Jatta netted the opener in the 2025-26 League Two play-off final when County beat Salford City to reach League One. He has now departed for an undisclosed fee, with County stating that while they would have gladly retained his services for the forthcoming campaign, it has become clear that he sees his future elsewhere.
Why it matters for Notts County
The departure of Jatta comes as a blow to the Magpies, who will need to find a replacement for the prolific striker. County said: "During his time with us, we have rejected several bids which did not meet our valuation - however we feel this latest offer represents fair value and he therefore moves on with our thanks and best wishes for the future."
What comes next?
Notts County will now focus on finding a new striker to lead their attack. With the new season just around the corner, the Magpies will be looking to make a strong start and push for promotion. Next fixture: vs Wycombe (at home, 2027-01-16).
Goals this season
