Loan Move
Chelsea has loaned 20-year-old defender Ishe to Notts County for the 2025/26 season. The player progressed through Everton’s academy before signing for Chelsea. After a permanent move to Strasbourg in July 2025, Chelsea re-signed him and loaned him to Swansea City for 2025/26. He is now heading to League One to gain more minutes.
Club Statements
Notts County Director of Football Richard Montague said the move will add versatility to a side fighting relegation. “Ishe is a talented young player who is capable of contributing in both attacking and defensive phases. He’s athletic and, standing at 6ft 1, brings a strong physical presence - and his committed and determined nature is backed up by the fact he has captained Chelsea’s Under 21s on a number of occasions. We know we can provide Ishe with a great opportunity to develop this season and we’re looking forward to working with him,” Montague added.
Future Prospects
Reports before the deal suggested Chelsea liked the way Notts County play under Martin Paterson, a possession-based approach that suits Samuels-Smith, a rising star for the Blues and a player to watch for the future.
