Notts County will be looking to end a run of four straight draws when they welcome Bradford City to Meadow Lane on Saturday, 12 September, in a meeting between two of League One's early risers.

The Magpies sit 13th in the table with seven points from five games, having drawn four of those and won just once, a record that leaves them five points adrift of leaders Sheffield Wednesday. Bradford, by contrast, arrive in fifth place on nine points and have won three of their last five away fixtures, BBC reports, a marked improvement on the three victories they managed across their previous fifteen league trips combined.

Notts County's start to the campaign has been defined by stalemates. They have drawn with Luton Town twice, plus Leicester City and Burnley, and their only win in League One so far came against Burton Albion. In the League Cup, they were held by both Huddersfield Town and Doncaster Rovers. Their current form reads DDWDD, and with seven goals scored and six conceded, the plus-one goal difference hints at a side still finding its rhythm rather than one short of quality.

History favours the home side here. Notts County have lost just once in their last eleven league meetings with Bradford City, winning six and drawing four, a run stretching back to a 1-0 defeat at Valley Parade in December 2014. Bradford's away record at Meadow Lane has been especially poor: they have lost five of their last six league visits, drawing the other, since a 3-1 win back in February 2008.

Bradford City's recent away form marks a genuine shift with three wins from their last five trips matching the total they managed across the previous fifteen combined. That improvement, allied to their fifth-placed standing, makes them a sterner test than their record at Meadow Lane suggests. Notts County's habit of drawing games, last matched at this stage of a season back in 2008-09 in League Two, will need to break if they are to take anything meaningful from Saturday.

Kick-off at Meadow Lane comes with Bradford City sat two places and two points above Notts County heading into the game.
